PET CARE


WE OFFER DOG-WALKING, DOG-SITTING AND HOLIDAY CARE FOR CATS & POULTRY

Initially we will arrange a meeting with you and your pet - either in your home or
in ours. If your dog is going to be staying with us then we invite you to bring him round in advance so he has a chance to meet us and become familiar with our home. These initial meetings are free of charge.

We hold insurance for our dog, cat and poultry care services (which includes the
holding of keys) - provided by Pet Business Insurance - and Katie is a student member
of the Institute for Animal Care Education.

There are a whole range of reasons why people need a hand with taking the dog out for a walk - perhaps you:

  • Are at work all day
  • Are unwell
  • Need to go over the water for a day’s shopping, a hospital appointment, etc.
  • Have an all-day event such as a wedding to attend€¦

Whatever the reason, your dog will still insist on a walk - so just let us know what’s needed:

  • A regular walk every day/week or just a one-off walk
  • A quick ½-hour walk to stretch his legs or a longer walk to really burn off some energy
  • A trip to the vet - in Dunoon or over the water?
     

We do not walk more than 2 dogs at one time - so that your pet is
guaranteed our utmost attention.

Not every dog is happy staying in a boarding kennel, which is why we’re pleased to offer a realistically priced alternative that can be tailored to suit your dog’s needs and provide you with peace of mind whilst you’re away.

Your dog will stay with us in our family house where he’ll receive all the attention he’s used to at home and he can have a great time playing with our own dog and children. Whether it’s for one night or a fortnight, he’ll be made to feel like one of the family.

Our home has a secure garden where your dog can play, and he will receive regular exercise along with our own dog, Bracken.

Simply provide your dog’s bed, food and favourite toys to help him feel safe and secure during his holiday.

We are happy either to come and collect your dog, or you can drop him off at our house at a prearranged time - the same for the day your dog is going home.
 

We do not board more than 2 dogs at one time - so that your pet is guaranteed a
lot of time & attention whilst staying with us.

Holiday care at home for your cat

Cats are often happiest when they are allowed to stay in their own environment whilst you are away on holiday. It can prove stressful to some cats to stay in a cattery. We are therefore pleased to offer a home-care service for your cat(s).

Whilst you are away we will come on a daily basis to look after your cat - this will usually involve Cat careputting out fresh food (and washing the food-dish); ensuring there is fresh water; cleaning out the litter tray and simply giving your cat attention and fuss.

We’ll come round to your house before-hand, free of charge, so you can introduce us to your cat and show us exactly what you’d like us to do. We are happy to tailor this service to exactly suit your, and your cats, needs.

 


Poultry care

Keeping poultry on a small scale in the back garden is very rewarding (we have hens ourselves) and nothing beats a freshly laid egg!Poultry care

However, poultry do require care 365 days a year and so if you are away for a day or more and need your poultry looked after then we’d be pleased to help. This may include shutting in at night and letting out in the morning; feeding; topping up water; cleaning the house and run; putting the eggs in your fridge for your return.
